Inktober 2015 - Day 7 by mayorlight Inktober 2015 - Day 7 by mayorlight
Taking a break from MLP, I decided to draw Maria Renard as she appeared in the original Akumajo Dracula X: Chi No Rondo.

Maybe it's the old school anime fan in me, but I just LOVED the cartoonish artwork of that game. I only played it ONCE on an ACTUAL PC ENGINE at an anime convention in 2002 - that hour and a half was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had.

Yeah, the anime-style game art of that era was a lot of fun, beyond the games themselves. It just worked well given the technologies of the day, I think.

I like the inks and their character in this piece- especially her hand and the weight around it.

As always, I appreciate your insight. :)

Indeed, the 90's were when games began to feel more like fullblown cartoons or movies with all the FMV and animated cutscenes.

Very lovely. I remember Rondo of Blood. The PC Engine or Turbo Grafx 16 CD version is the best one.

Indeed, it is without a doubt the greatest Castlevania game Konami ever produced!

Yep. I love the music from that game especially Divine Bloodlines.
